SWIM STARTERS- 2 Part series (6 months - 3 years)
A) Water Discovery (6 months - 3 years)
If you have a child from 6 months-3 years old, now is the time to familiarize them with water! This program is a parent-participation water class. During the 7-week session, children will be encouraged to discover the water and get comfortable on their stomachs and backs and submerge with the assistance of an adult. Register at the YMCA!
B) Water Exploration
In Stage B of the swim starters class, parents work with their children to explore body positions, floating, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills.
Spring 2 Session: April 26th - June 12th

Group Swim Lessons
Build confidence in the water! Improve your swim skills with certified instructors who are excited to help you grow. Group swim lessons are structured classes for children divided by age and skill, starting at 3 years old. Group lessons are held Monday and Wednesday evenings and are taught in 7-week sessions.
Spring 1 Session: March 1st - April 17th
Registration begins February 15, 2021
3-5 Years Old (Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-6:30pm)
1/ Water Acclimation: Beginner level for Preschool children with little or no previous swim instruction. Children will learn safe pool behavior, begin getting face wet, floating with support and kicking with support.
2/Water Movement : For Children who are more comfortable in the water and are beginning to swim independently. Front and back glides will be introduced. They will begin refining strokes and independent swimming along with working on building endurance and refining of their swim strokes.
3/Water Stamina: Participants will be taught to swim on their back 15 yards, tread water for 1 min and Swim Float Swim for 25 yards without assistance.
4/ Stroke Introduction: Child must be able to complete 25-yard swim without assistance to enroll in this class. In this class they will work on endurance, rotary breathing, sitting dive, resting stroke.
5+ (Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-6:30pm)
Water Acclimation 2: Beginning level for school-age program. Introduces breath control, front and back paddle with flutter kick.
Water Movement 2: Will build upon previous skills while improving endurance and distance.
(Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:15pm)
Water Stamina 2/Stroke Introduction: Butterfly stroke is introduced. To progress to the next swim level, swimmers must do survival float for 6 minutes, tread water for 3 minutes and swim each stroke 50 meters. Emphasis on endurance swim skills and flip turns are introduced. Swimmer will swim 100 meters of each stroke (except butterfly), learn basic lifesaving skills, and diving techniques. Goggles are recommended.
Stroke Development/Stroke Mechanics: Endurance for this level is raised to 50 yards of continues swimming. The participant will be encouraged to achieve a 25 yard front crawl, 25 yard back crawl, 25 yard breast stroke, 15 yards butterfly with simultaneous arms and kick.
Private Swim Lessons
Private lessons are available for ages 3 and up and can be scheduled according to your availability. You may schedule three, five, or seven lessons at a time.
Any age private swim lessons: 30 minute sessions
3 sessions: Members $45/Non-Members $65
