Reopening Guidelines

Welcome Back! We will be reopening our facility on June 1, 2020. We are eager to see our members and serve you in-person once again. This pandemic has not been easy for anyone, and that's why we want to do everything we can to keep strengthening community during this time. We are taking a slow and steady approach to reopening, so things will look quite different from normal at first. Although our regular operations will not look like they use to, our commitment to you will not waiver. We are excited to greet you with smiles and help you get back to growing in healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility at the Y.

PHASE 1:

  • Operating hours through Labor Day: Monday-Friday 6am-8pm, Saturday 7am-1pm, Sunday closed

  • No guests will be permitted. Facility use will only be for members & SilverSneakers during Phase I.

  • Any kind of payment within the facility must be done via card. No cash or checks during Phase I.

  • Currently, nationwide membership reciprocity has been suspended until further notice, but we are choosing to honor state-wide reciprocity. In other words, if you are a member of another Ohio YMCA, you will be granted access to our facility.

  • Members under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent.

  • No gathering in groups of different households.

  • Members must maintain minimum of 6 feet distance.

  • Members will not be required to wear face masks.

  • Members will be asked to conduct a self-assessment upon entry.

  • Hygiene shields have been installed at the Welcome Desk

  • Staff temperatures will be checked upon entry. If anyone has a temperature of 100.0 or over or has symptoms of coronavirus, they will be asked not to enter. Temperatures will not be recorded.

  • All staff will be wearing masks. 

  • Staff will regularly disinfect high-touch areas every two hours.

  • Hand sanitizer stations have been added throughout the building.

  • The building will be fogged regularly.

  • Increased signage has been placed throughout the building to encourage social distancing, hand-washing, and disinfecting equipment.

  • Lobby restrooms will be available.

  • Locker rooms will be open for use of the restrooms and washing of hands.  The lockers, showers and dressing areas will not be available for use.

  • The Adult Health Facility will be closed

  • Towel service will not be available.

  • Coffee will not be available.

  • Pool will be closed

  • Child Watch will be closed.

  • Fitness:

    • Fitness equipment has been rearranged to create more space. Some cardio equipment is now in the Small Dance Room (SDR).

    • Time limit for cardio machines is 45 minutes.

    • Members must disinfect equipment before and after use.

    • Members must wash hands before and after using fitness center.  

    • Multipurpose room (MPR) may be used for additional exercise space. Members must bring their own mats.

    • Some group exercise classes will continue virtually through Phase I.

    • Some group exercise classes will be offered in-person with a member limit. Some may be held outside.

    • Fitness class schedules will be posted on social media and our website.

    • When participating in a class or personal training, participants may not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to class.

    • Limit of people in Lukes Houser Memorial Fitness Center: 15

    • Limit of people in SDR (cardio equipment): 8

    • Limit of people in MPR (additional exercise space): 10

    • Limit of people in Gymnasium (fitness classes & reservations): 20

 

  • Gymnasium reservations:

    • Half-court open gym will be available to one single-family unit at a time by reservation only. Reservation limit is 45 minutes. A family unit is defined as one household.

    • Members must bring their own basketballs or pickleballs/paddles during Phase I. YMCA basketballs and pickleball equipment will not be available during Phase I.

    • Beginning June 1st, gym time can be reserved by calling ahead at 419-347-1312.

 

  • Racquetball court reservations:

    • The racquetball court will be available to one single-family unit at a time by reservation only. Reservation limit is 45 minutes. A family unit is defined as one household.

    • Members must bring their own racquetballs and racquets. YMCA racquetball equipment will not be available during Phase I.

    • Beginning June 1st, racquetball court time can be reserved by calling ahead at 419-347-1312.

 

 

These guidelines are subject to change at any time. We will continue to evaluate these guidelines regularly and communicate changes through email, our website and social media to meet federal, state and local guidelines.
