Reopening Guidelines


Welcome Back! We reopened our facility on June 1, 2020. We were eager to see our members and ready to serve in-person once again. This pandemic has not been easy for anyone, and that is why we want to do everything we can to keep strengthening our community during this time. We are taking a slow and steady approach to reopening, so things will look quite different from normal. Although our regular operations will not look like they use to, our commitment to you will not waiver. We are excited to greet you with smiles and help you get back to growing in healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility at the Y.


Here is what you need to know: 

Operating hours after Labor Day:

Monday-Thursday: 5:00am-9:00pm

Friday: 5:00am-8:00pm

Saturday 7:00am-1:00pm
Sunday closed


  • Members, SilverSneakers, and guests will be permitted into the facility.

  • Guests will be permitted at the regular guest rates: $5 per individual, $10 per household.

  • Card, cash, and checks will be accepted.

  • Nationwide membership reciprocity will be honored. However, nationwide reciprocity may not be available at all YMCAs.

  • Members and guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent.

  • No gathering in groups of different households.

  • Members and guests must maintain a minimum of 6 feet distance.

  • Members and guests will not be required to wear face masks.

  • Members and guests will be asked to conduct a self-assessment upon entry.

  • Hygiene shields have been installed at the Welcome Desk

  • Staff temperatures will be checked upon entry. If anyone has a temperature of 100.0 or

  • over or has symptoms of COVID-19, they will be asked not to enter.

  • All staff will be wearing masks.

  • Staff will regularly disinfect high-touch areas every two hours.

  • Hand sanitizer stations have been added throughout the building.

  • The building will be fogged regularly.

  • Increased signage has been placed throughout the building to encourage social

  • distancing, hand-washing, and disinfecting equipment.

  • Lobby restrooms will be available.

  • Locker rooms are open for use of the restrooms, changing rooms & showers. A system

  • of green and red cards will indicate sanitized/used facilities so that staff can efficiently

  • disinfect the areas.

  • The Adult Health Facility will be closed

  • Towel service will not be available.

  • Coffee will not be available.

  • Child Watch is open

  • No facility rentals.


  • All programs will adhere to state guidelines.


  • Pool reopened, Thursday June 18th for lap swim and adult open. Alternating changing

  • rooms and showers are available.

  • Family Open swim will be available 11 am to 6 pm Mon-Fri and Sat 7am – 12 pm by
    reserving only for half of the pool. Reservation limit is one hour. Family & guests must

  • provide their own life jackets, pool toys, noodles etc. 

  • Family Open Pool time can be reserved by calling ahead at 419-347-1312

  • Lap swimmers will have 3 lanes available during Family Open swim

  • Aquatic fitness classes will begin the week of June 22nd. Refer to the Pool schedule for
    available classes and details

  • All fitness equipment will be put in a designated area after use to be disinfected

  • Maintain the social distancing guidelines while in the pool.

  • Diving board remains closed.

  • Limit of people in natatorium: 30



  • Fitness equipment has been rearranged to create more space. Some cardio equipment is now in the Small Dance Room (SDR).

  • Time limit for cardio machines is 45 minutes.

  • Members and guests must disinfect equipment before and after use.

  • Members and guests must wash hands before and after using the fitness center.

  • Multipurpose room (MPR) may be used for additional exercise space. Members and guests must bring their own mats.

  • Some group exercise classes will be offered in-person with a member limit. Some may be held outside.

  • Fitness class schedules will be posted on social media and our website.

  • When participating in a class or personal training, participants may not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to class.

  • Limit of people in Lukes Houser Memorial Fitness Center: 15

  • Limit of people in SDR (cardio equipment): 8

  • Limit of people in MPR (additional exercise space): 10

  • Limit of people in Gymnasium (fitness classes & reservations): 20

Gymnasium reservations:


  • The gymnasium will be available by reservation only. Reservation limit is one hour.


  • 10 individuals per side or 20 for full court.

  • Members and guests must bring their own basketballs or pickleballs/paddles.

  • Gym time can be reserved by calling ahead at 419-347-1312.

  • Racquetball court reservations:

  • The racquetball court will be available by reservation only. Reservation limit is one hour.

  • Members and guests must bring their own racquetballs and racquets.

  • Racquetball court time can be reserved by calling ahead at 419-347-1312.


We will continue to review these guidelines regularly and communicate changes through
email, our website and social media to meet federal, state and local guidelines. We will
continue providing virtual resources for our members who are still sheltering at home.
