Pick-up Basketball

Did you know basketball was invented at a YMCA? Dr. James Naismith created the game back in 1891, hanging simple peach baskets and using a soccer ball to play. The Shelby Y provides dedicated gym time for those not ready to hang up their high-tops!

Basketball Net

Pickleball

This is a sport played with a special wiffle ball in an indoor court. The game rules are similar to tennis and ping pong. Our group primarily plays doubles, but singles pickleball is available.

Racquetball

This is a sport played with a hollow rubber ball in an indoor or outdoor court. Racquetball courts are available for play and can be reserved for Y members.

Co-Ed Volleyball League

Get your friends together and join the Shelby YMCA co-ed volleyball league. Must have at least 2 female players per team. The games will be a team-officiated with lots of fun for all involved. Must be at least 18 years old. 6-8 players per team. 

Registration:April 11th-April 29th

Pre-Season Meeting: May 24th at 5:30pm

Duration: June 7th-July 21st

Thursday-Competitive League

Cost: $300 per team

Swim Club

The benefits of swimming are amazing! Increase muscle tone, strength, improve flexibility, heart health, weight control, and so much more. Swim Club is offered to men and women 17 years and up. Learn more about Swim Club HERE.
